Дія.Бізнес, in cooperation with the The Possible Alliance, including Alliance members — Український соціальний венчурний фонд (USVF), SILab Ukraine, Promprylad, and Greencubator — have launched a new Investment Catalog of Impact Enterprises.
This resource is designed for investors who seek not only financial returns but also the opportunity to become part of Ukraine’s transformation by supporting social businesses.
The Catalog on the Diia.Business portal features companies addressing today’s most pressing challenges — from climate change to supporting vulnerable groups.
“Supporting entrepreneurs is a priority for the Ministry of Digital Transformation. Within the national Diia.Business project, together with our partners, we are creating opportunities for businesses to grow and scale. One such opportunity is the Investment Catalog of Impact Enterprises. It brings together socially responsible businesses that use innovation to achieve sustainable development and solve social problems, and investors ready to support such projects. I am confident that this approach will strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem and enable Ukrainian entrepreneurs to develop the economy and improve community life,”
— noted Valeria Ionan, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine for European Integration.
Impact Business as an Investment Opportunity
Impact enterprises combine profitability with social and environmental impact. According to the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), the global impact investing market has already exceeded $1 trillion and continues to grow steadily. This global trend is also rapidly developing in Ukraine.
The new Catalog provides investors with a detailed overview of impact businesses operating in key sustainable development areas:
Social Enterprises
Businesses that address labor and social integration challenges of vulnerable populations, provide social and educational services, and deliver healthcare services that are lacking in communities but are in demand.
Green Businesses
Innovations in renewable energy, waste recycling, and carbon footprint reduction.
Community Solutions
Products and services that make citizens’ lives safer and more comfortable.
The portfolio includes around 30 businesses, 12 of which are green enterprises. They develop biodegradable packaging, recycle coffee grounds, create mycelium leather and precision agriculture solutions, and manufacture electric vehicles for people with disabilities.
The Catalog also features 10 social enterprises focused on inclusion, education, and support for vulnerable groups; 4 community businesses; and 1 veteran-owned business.
At the same time, the Catalog remains open to new participants — companies that meet the established criteria can apply to be included.
The Ukrainian Impact Ecosystem
“Impact investing is not just a trendy concept. It is a way to create positive change while generating financial returns. Ukrainian entrepreneurs have already demonstrated their capacity to drive change locally and are ready to scale further to contribute even more to Ukraine’s economic recovery. This Catalog serves as a gateway to such investment opportunities. It also clearly demonstrates how important cooperation among diverse organizations supporting impact entrepreneurship is. That synergy is precisely why we launched The Possible Alliance,”
— said Anastasiia Sleptsova, Co-Leader of The Possible Alliance.
An ecosystem of organizations supporting impact entrepreneurs is critically important for Ukraine’s sustainable development. By joining forces, these organizations provide entrepreneurs with access to larger-scale financing, expert support, networking, and educational programs.
The mission of The Possible Alliance is to consolidate these resources, facilitate cooperation among organizations, and create conditions under which impact enterprises can scale their solutions. This not only helps entrepreneurs succeed but also contributes to overall economic growth and addressing global challenges.
“Today, 89.6% of Ukrainian businesses are engaged in supporting the country during the war, including 65.4% assisting the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Investment Catalog of Impact Enterprises on the Diia.Business portal is a tool that will help investors find projects capable not only of generating profit but also of solving key social and environmental challenges. This is an important step toward building a new economic model focused on sustainable development,”
— noted Andrii Remizov, Director of the Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office.
Real Impact Stories
The Catalog highlights successful cases of impact enterprises that have already attracted investment and achieved tangible results, including:
-
A startup that developed water purification solutions for war-affected communities
-
A social enterprise providing employment for people with disabilities
-
A green company producing construction materials from recycled waste
Why It Matters
According to research by the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship (January 2024), there are approximately 10 million social enterprises worldwide generating $2 trillion in revenue and creating more than 200 million jobs. In the United Kingdom, one-third of such businesses are less than three years old, indicating growing interest in social entrepreneurship.
In Ukraine, this trend has become particularly visible since the start of the full-scale invasion: applications to incubation programs at SILab Ukraine increased from 70–100 to nearly 300 in 2024.
“The activities of social entrepreneurs and impact businesses are critically important for Ukraine’s recovery and post-war development. That is why investing in such businesses makes impact investors active participants in the country’s sustainable economic and social development processes,”
— said Anna Gulevska-Chernysh, Co-Founder of SILab Ukraine.
“The Ukrainian model of impact entrepreneurship is unique due to its adaptability to extremely challenging conditions, where business and social impact become inseparable. These enterprises address critically important challenges — from supporting war-affected communities to developing the green economy. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian Social Venture Fund has supported 64 impact companies, some of which are successfully scaling at the community level, demonstrating a new mindset focused on economic recovery. Such businesses form the foundation for sustainable national recovery and create opportunities for investors seeking to combine financial returns with positive societal impact,”
— emphasized Olena Kalibaba, CEO of the Ukrainian Social Venture Fund.
Investing in solutions to global challenges is a trend transforming the economy. At a time when sustainable development has become a global priority, Ukraine — even amid war — offers innovative solutions that simultaneously address urgent problems and create new business opportunities.
This Catalog is, in essence, an invitation for investors and international partners to become part of positive change in Ukraine.
